Mimi and I were sitting watching a couple at the mall in silence.
"Conjugo," I said.
"What?" she said taking her eyes away from the couple we were watching.
"Conjugo," I repeated, and looked at her.
"I know what you said, but what does it mean?" she said.
"To 'unite'. Everyone wants to fall in love." I said.
"Ya. It would be nice just perfectly into someone's arms." she
whispered. She sighed, and looked at the couple.
"Basium." I said.
"Sora you got to stop learning Latin. It's messing with you head." she
grabbed my arm, and dragged me to the food court. We stopped, and Mimi
continued, "Now here, here is one thing that we can have," she paused.
"What... food?"
"Yes food. So what do you want?" she said, twirling around.
"Erm.......ummm......well..."
"New York Fries TM"
"Ya, like always," I muttered.
"Ya, but you never complain." Mimi dragged me into a looooooo-ooooong
line up, and we waited. We saw this group of people walk towards us. They
stopped and got in line.
"So who's paying?" a blond guy with what appeared to be a bowl on his
head asked.
"Kari?" He asked. A very pretty girl shook her head.
"Daisuke?" He asked again. A tall hot guy had begun to shake his head
before the question was even done.
"Tai- never mind!" he glanced at an extremely hot hot hot hot hot hot hot
hot hot hot guy.
"Okay Matt?" He turned his head to a really cute guy. I looked over to
Mimi she was staring at him.
"FINE!!! I'll pay........ again," he added.
"Thanks," the rest said
"Ya thank you T.K." Kari said and hugged him. Daisuke looked away with
anger.
"So Sora you paying?" Mimi said peeling her eyes away from Matt.
"Ya.....sure..." I pulled out my wallet and turned around. We took a
step forward, and were next in line. "Hey Mimi, after this ya wanna catch a
movie?" I added to start a conversation.
"Ya what about that X-men movie?" she suggested.
"Ya I really want to see if Rogue and Wolverine get together," I said.
"Ya ME TOO!!!"
"Besides I saw the preview, and Wolverine is so hot!" we took a step
forward and ordered. I pulled out a ten and a loony fell out. I bent down
to pick it up, but I found myself face to face with Tai.
"H-here," he picked it up and handed it to me.
"Thanks," I said standing up. As he stood up he hit his head on the
countertop.
"Owwww!!"
"Oh, are you okay?" I reached out, and rubbed his head. He put his hand
on my hand and said:
"Ya... I'm fine thanks," he backed away to his friends. Mimi looked at
me, grabbed the fries, we headed for a table.
"Soooo-oooo what was that?" she asked.
"What was what?" I asked incoherent.
"That flirting with Tai, who by the way is staring at you right now,"
Mimi said.
"Really, is he looking?" I turned to see him staring at me. He turned
away the minute we made eye contact. His friends laughed. Matt's hand
pressed on his gut, and he laughed harder. He then fell over, head slamming
into a table. Mimi and Sora snorted and burst out laughing.
At the movie Mimi and I got popcorn, and drinks, and went to the back row
and sat in the middle row. Those stupid questions about actors and movies.
Mimi and I were to caught up in the questions to notice a group of 5 kids
walk in and sit beside me. The lights dimmed and the preveiws started. In
the middle of the movie I felt the guy next to me's popcorn fall to the
ground. I reached in my popcorn bag and felt something else was in it (no
not popcorn) I grabbed it, and to my surprise it grabbed back. I screeched.
"Shhhhhhhh!" Mimi said to me.
I looked over to see Tai looking at me.
"Sorry for that. I didn't realize it was your popcorn sorry,"
"Forget about it, but we really need to stop meeting like this." He
laughed, then we went back to watching the movie.
"They didn't even Kiss!!!! GOD!!!" Mimi complained. I wasn't really
listening as we walked out of the theaters. We walked to the bus stop to
wait for the bus (duh). And wouldn't you know it but guess what 5 wonderful
people showed up....yup Tai and his friends, but I wasn't upset.
"Hey!" Tai said, and sat down beside me. Before I could get into a good
conversation, and learn something about him the bus came. We got on, and Tai
and I sat down together. Mimi glared at me. Then sat down alone, but she
wasn't alone for long, Matt sat down with her. He introduced himself and they
were talking and laughing a lot. T.k. sat on one seat and Daisuke sat on
another. When Kari came by she stopped and looked at both of them. She chose
to sit with an elderly lady instead.
"So Tai... is your name Tai?" I asked
"Ya how'd ya know?"
"Erm... well I was sorta listening to you guys..." I told him.
"Oh okay. So what's your name?"
"Sora." I said.
"Well Sora, you know you CAN look at me," I didn't realize that I was
staring at my lap.
"Sorry." I looked up at him.
"Wow..." he said
"Wow what?"
"Your eyes they're so ...wow," he was gazing into my eyes. I blushed and
looked down.
"Thanks..."
"What? Why are you so surprised. It's like no ones ever said that to you
before."
I looked up again "no one has,"
"Oh really? I would have thought a beautiful girl like you would have
heard things like that a lot." I laughed.
"Why are you being so nice to me?"
"I dunno, I guess I like you that's all."
"..." the bus stopped, I got up, and walked to the door. Mimi reluctently
followed. It seemed as though she had made a new 'friend' as well. Behind
Mimi was Tai. "What are you stalking me or something?"
"No we live around here," Kari said "Hi I'm Kari this pigs sister."
"Nice to meet you Kari, I'm Sora,"
"Oh so that's her name." Daisuke said stumbling off the bus.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Tai asked him.
"Your new-"
"Friend," I jumped in knowing what he was going to say.
"Yes and this 'friend' has to go," Mimi said grabbing my arm. "Bye
Matt!!"
"Bye Mim's"
"Mim's?" Tai asked.
"Bye Kari, bye Tai," I said.
"Bye Sora-chan,"
"And that's better then Mim's?" Matt joked. Tai elbowed him in the ribs.
"umm....where's T.k.?" Matt asked.

~~~~~Next day~~~~~Morning...7:00... ya...~~~~
I woke up to an empty house... I went into the
kitchen and found a note from my mom. It read:
'My dearest daughter,'
*uh oh* I thought *she only says that when she
has to leave town in an emergency....
'I'm sorry that I'm not here but a something
very important came up and I had to leave for
america for a week or so. I know you are a big
girl and you can take care of yourself...'
*like I always do* I continued reading
'And I know that you know I would never leave
you unless it was important. I left money in my
room for your dinners, and if there isn't enough
I'm sure Mimi's mom will gladly help out. I love
you dearly and I will call you if there's a change
in plans.

Mom.'
*great* I thought. I crumpled the letter, and
threw it in the garbage as I headed to my Mom's
room. I felt so alone. My mom was never around,
and I guess I just wanted to have a mom that I
could see more than once a month. Ever since dad
left she's been more distance. I reached her room
and lifted the lid to her money box, pulled out a
roll of twenty's... interrupting my thoughts was
the phone. I snapped out of the empty feeling I
had brought upon myself, I put the money in my
bag, and answered our portable phone.
"Hello, Takenouchi residence Sora spea-"
"Ya I know Sora!" the voice said interrupting
me.
"Oh hi Mimi," I said in a disappointed
voice. I was hoping it was my mom with some good
news.
"Nice to see you too Sora." she said numbly.
"No that's not what I meant Mimi, I just
thought you were my mom..."
"Oh where's your mom?"
"America..." I said almost incoherently.
"What's she doing there?"
"I don't know some emergency." I took the
phone, and walked to the living room and sat on
the couch. "But enough about me. What's up?" I
said perking up.
"Oh... umm well nothing new, but I called to
ask you if you wanted to meet Matt and his friends
at the mall for lunch?" She asked cheerfully.
"Well I dunno-"
"Come on Sora don't be such a drag! Besides
it will get you out of the house! And I already
said yes. So Sora you can't-" I interrupted her.
"FINE!!" I yelled.
"Good now I'll be over in a few minutes, and
you can let me borrow something to impress Matt
*sigh* then we will shop for like... 2 and a half
hours when we'll meet up with everyone! So be
ready!!"
"But Mimi-" I heard the dial tone before I
could finish complaining how 'I just woke up' or
'I haven't eaten'. I sat on my couch for a while
staring at the portable phone, before I pushed
the 'end' button, and placed it on the coffee
table.
"Great," I walked into the kitchen, looked at
the clock that hung on the wall it was 7:30 I
walked to the fridge, and opened it. I pushed some
stuff aside, and found my half eaten sandwich from
last night. "good enough," I unwrapped it, then
walked to my room.
I pulled out a pair of dark denim hip hugger
jeans that flared at the bottom, and a white
sleeveless button up shirt. Then I took a bite out
of the sandwich, and placed it on my bed. I took
off my pajama bottoms and replaced them with the
jeans. Then put on my 'unmentionable' and put the
shirt over top replacing my blue pajama top. I
grabbed my sandwich, and walked back into the
living room. I sat down on the couch, and
continued eating my sandwich.
By the time took the last bite, Mimi had
reached my front door.
"Hello doll," She said inviting herself in,
and came into the living room. She sat down
beside me.
"Hey Mimi!" I said cheerily.
"So... what can I wear?"
"Ummm... come on," I got up motioning for her
to follow me to my room. She got up and followed
me.
"O-kay!" We had reached my room, and Mimi had
jumped on my bed. "So lets see your stuff!" I
rolled my eyes, and headed for my closet.
After a long 2 hour Mimi finally decided on a
short black mini skirt, and a tight fitting pink
T-shirt with the word 'angel' written in white on
it. She was already wearing high black go-go
boots.
I looked at the clock and asked Mimi:
"What time are we supposed to be there?"
"12:00 why?"
I gave a slight chuckle "`cause you took 2
hours to find what your wearing!"
"No I didn't!" She looked at the clock, and
let out a small screech. "NO WAY! wow...." she
was dumbfounded
"He he come on," I grabbed her wrist, and
pulled her to the front door. I grabbed my bag,
and headed out the door.
We ran to the bus stop, and for the first time
we had good timing. We got on the bus, sat down
together in one of those two seaters. Mimi was
staring out the window the entire bus ride. I on
the other hand was trying to figure out how Mimi
does this to me every single day. We reached the
stop out front of the mall, and got off the bus.
We started walking to the mall.
"What time is it?" Mimi asked as we reached
the mall entrance.
"Dunno," I said simply pulling open the
door. We walked into the middle of the mall.
"10:30." I said looking at the time capsule they
had put in the millennium.
"Oh... 1 and a half hours to spare! Come on
Sora," She grabbed my wrist, and pulled me from
store to store.
By the time we had reached the middle of the
mall again Mimi had bought a pair of black leather
boots, pink leather pants and a hat. I bought a
light blue vest cape, a black 3/4 sleeved shirt
and a black mini skirt.
"Time?" Mimi asked.
"11:45."
"Lets go!" We rushed over to the escalators.
When we reached the top Mimi was still dragging me
along. We reached the food court in no time.
Mimi swung me down into a chair then sat in the
one across from it.
"Thanks Mimi I'm sure that I couldn't have
done that myself," I said sarcastically.
"Funny," her head was swinging from side to
side, she was barley listening to me.
"LOOK! It's Matt!" I shouted.
"WHERE!" she swung her head so that she was
looking at me. "Funny..."
"Well I needed to get your attention."
"Sorry, what did you want?" she asked.
"Well I was wondering if they _know_ where we
are?"
"..uh... ya," she perked up when she said
'ya'. I turned to see seven people.
"Hey Matt, Kari, Daisuke, Tk and Tai." I
said.
"Hello," Kari said.
"Hey," Daisuke said.
"Hey," Matt said.
"Hello," Tai said sitting beside me.
"hmm," T.K. said quietly.
They all sat down around the table. Tai
smiled at me it was so cute.
"So what do you guys want?" I asked.
"I 'unno," Tai replied. He seemed to be the
only one that was listening to me. Matt was
talking to Mimi, whatever he was saying it must of
been funny `cause she was laughing out of her
mind. T.K. and Daisuke were fighting over Kari.
"Is Matt a smooth talker or is Mimi just
easily impressed?" I asked.
"Well Matt couldn't talk his way ot of a paper
bag... so Mimi must be easily impressed." Tai
said. I couldn't help laugh at him. "Come on
let's go buy something. I'm sure they won't miss
us," He stood up, and grabbed my hand pulling me
behind him. I grabbed my bag and quickly rushed
up beside him.
"K!" I said cheerfully, putting on the cutest
of smiles.
"I like your... uh never mind."
"What?!!?" I wanted to know what he was
saying... (obviously)
"Nothing, honestly!" He put both hands up in
the air.
"I'm so sure," I poked him in the chest.
We walked towards the 'New York Fries' place,
and bought ourselves a jumbo fry and to medium
pepsi's. We sat back down at the table, I put my
bag on the floor beside me. We listend in to find
that Matt was still being his hilarious self and
Kari was still the center of attention for T.K and
Daisuke.
"What's with Daisuke and T.k?" I asked Tai.
"Well... they both really like Kari, and she
won't chose either of them so... they're left
fighting over her."
"Oh... who does she like?"
"Matt and I both agree that Daisuke is her
main intrest. Matt says that Tk doesn't really
like her any ways and he is just annoying
Daisuke." He pointed to the people with a fry as
he spoke.
"But I thought that T.k and Matt were
brothers?" I asked with a confused look on my
face.
"Ya they are. Why?" He nodded his head
vigurously.
"Well shouldn't Matt be on T.k.'s side?"
"No... it's T.k.!" he looked at T.k. with
disgust.
"oh... o...kay?" I didn't quite understand
what was wrong with T.k. I just never understood
his Bowl, but I realized that this conversation
was going nowhere.
"Well Sora enough about them... what about
you?" Tai asked returning his eyes on me.
"What about me?"
"Well... how old are you ... birthday... phone
number stuff like that..." he said nervously. It
was very slow until he hit the phone number, then
he sped up.
"Well... I'm 17... my birthday is April 1 (AN:
I have no idea when her birthday is so... shut
up!)" I reached into my bag and pulled out a
piece of paper and wrote my number on it, and I
handed it to him. "And here." He took it with a
surprised look on his face, then he smiled.
"Thankies!" He rubbed the back of his head.
"You're welcome," I chuckled at how cute he
looked.
"What so funny?" Mimi said standing up and
walking behind me.
"Nothing Mimi," I told her holding in the
laughs.
"Oh really?"
"Yes really." She put her hand on my arm.
"What?
"We gotta go."
"But you haven't even ate!" I really didn't
want to leave.
"I'll eat at you're place! Besides you'll
still be able to talk to him on the bus." I
blushed. I really didn't think she would know how
much I wanted to stay and talk, and I really hoped
that Tai didn't hear.
"Ya Sora you can still talk to ME!" Tai said
as if he was a very important person.
"Fine," I said standing up clutching my bag.
We walked to the bus stop together, and sat on
the bus bench (if that's what it's called).
"So Tai, umm... like you know.. about me... so
like ... ummm... tell me about yourself," 'I
can't believe I stuttered! STUPIDSTUPIDSTUPID!'
my head screamed. Tai just laughed. The bus
pulled up, and I got on it quickly.
Tai came and sat beside me. "Well I am 18 and
my birthday is... umm," He looked over to Kari
who was sitting in the middle of T.k and Daisuke,
"Kari! When's my birthday?" I laughed at how
stupid he was.
"January 9 you dimbo!" She said. Daisuke
looked up at him and said.
"Ya you dimbo!" Kari glared at him.
"Shut up Daisuke argh!" Kari snapped.
"sorry," he lowered himself in the seat.
"Ya Daisuke shut-"
"T.K you too!" Kari shouted.
"Sorry," He too scowled in his seat.
Tai looked at me. "And my birthday is January
9!" He seemed very proud of himself. The bus
stopped, and we got off. As we were walking away
Tai stopped, and turned to see Mimi and me walking
away. He shouted:
"YOUR SMILE!"
I turned around dumbfounded by what he said.
"WHAT?!?"
"I LIKE YOUR SMILE!!" He ran off to catch up
to Matt, Daisuke and Kari.
I just laughed.
"What was that about?" Mimi asked.
"Earlier he told me that he liked something
but he didn't say what."
"Oooohhhh...." she just kept walking.
"Yes ooooohhhh." I mocked her tone.
"Shut up Sora," she elbowed my arm.

factley.
"Then you like her," she asked him.
"Well... um.. I-" with perfect timing Matt
